Coastal Carolina Artists & Crafters (CCAC) Guild: December 2008

Mission Statement

The CCAC Guild will promote arts and crafts in OnslowCounty, and surrounding areas, by providing a networking group that will encourage and nurture fellow artists and crafters through meetings, social functions, and sponsored events. The CCAC Guild will accomplish this mission through providing artists and crafters opportunities to share, show and demonstrate their creative talents; to participate in forums to exchange ideas with others; to engage in educational opportunities such as guest speakers and literature exploration; and to provide marketing opportunities for their craft.

Cleanup Time Soaps/Kay's Krafts - Clean Up Time Soaps

Specializes in making handcrafted soaps using all natural ingredients. No chemicals are used in the numerous varieties of soaps that Clean Up Time Soaps offers. These varieties include scented, kitchen, complexion and natural soaps. KAY'S KRAFTS offers a variety of quilted and woven items which include quilts, quilted placemats, woven towels, rugs and other woven items. Kay's Krafts also offers a line of quilled items, including Christmas decorations, keepsake boxes, cards and gift tags and original works of quilled art. Daneker's Designs

Hand-crafted quality designer pens; pen and pencil sets; assorted key chains; letter openers, and more. The wooden box containing the sets can be custom laser engraved upon request. Available at “Hidden Talents” on Base and “The Bead Shop” located in Jacksonville on the corner of Onslow Drive and Henderson Drive adjacent to the Antique Mall. Trevor offers necklaces made with semiprecious gemstones of many varieties. They make great gifts for guys and gals and are always in style. These can be found at “Hidden Talents” on Base. Jeanne designs Personalized Patriotic Bracelets which are fantastic gifts for military supporters and patriotic Americans! In addition, she creates Birthstone Bracelets which make thoughtful gifts for mothers, grandmas or your wife or daughter. All bracelets are made with sterling silver and Swarovski crystals; charms make them extra special! You can only find these at local craft shows made-to-order or best to call for a custom fit.

Empty Nest Photos

Wildlife and Nature photography with Personality. I strive to capture the humor, personality and mood as well as the unusual in wildlife and nature. I freelance and will photograph any outdoor event, such as sports and parties. Special projects include photographing our local firefighters in action then publishing year books for them.

Fine Fret Work

Specializes in chess sets, custom wood working including intarsia artwork, segmentation fretwork, picture frames. My wood art is of patriotic themes, portraits of nature, animals using exotic woods from Africa, South America, Indonesia, and North America. All of my artwork is to accomplish one goal, which is to bring the Mighty Creator honor and glory with the talents and resources he has given me.

Many Stitches

I sew bowls, boxes and leaves from fabric. Each bowl starts as a sandwich of fabric and interfacing and then is hand designed, free form, with what ever idea strikes at the moment to make the shape. There is no formal pattern used. Each item is individual and unique. The leaves are fashioned after a real leaf picked off a tree in my backyard. Its own unique curve depends on how the ‘veins’ or darts in the leaf are sewn. I love making my bowls and leaves. It feeds the creative need in me and because each creation is cut and sewn a little differently, each is a surprise when it is completed, a gift for my efforts!

The Rose Barn

Where no two items are exactly alike. Our specialty product is our Gourmet dips, cheesecake and cheese ball mixes. The Tail Spinner

Everything and anything to do with fiber! We hand spin our own yarns from wool and fibers from animals primarily raised in Onslow County. We wash and prepare the fibers for spinning, and we hand paint or dye the finished yarns. In addition to spinning, we also weave, knit, crochet, and felt items. Our biggest passion is teaching these crafts to others, and we conduct classes year round at the shop.
